This babysitter programme in New Zealand is designed for people who enjoy working with children and want to experience everyday life with a kiwi family while improving their English.

Students sometimes compare this type of option with a demi au pair in New Zealand, but the actual duties, study hours, allowance and visa conditions must be confirmed for the current programme. We explain the current conditions before you make a commitment.

How the process works

  • We first confirm the education proposal, visa conditions and current programme availability.
  • The student completes an online interview and English assessment.
  • Suitable host families interview candidates and both sides decide whether the match is right.
  • If the current English level is not sufficient, additional study may be recommended before another placement interview.
  • If no family is confirmed by the planned date, starting the English course first may be considered.
  • A further placement interview can take place after the student improves their English.
  • Programme acceptance and placement depend on the school, provider and host family.

Neither the school nor The Infinity NZ can guarantee that a host family will accept a student. A placement must be suitable and accepted by both sides.
